Examination and Assessment Policy

Assessments are a part of the teaching-learning process. It involves the systematic gathering of information from different sources regarding children’s learning. While content and pedagogy help to organize learning experiences for children, assessments that help provide information to the Teacher, parents, and children themselves about their achievements. Teachers can use information from regular ongoing assessments for planning and organizing learning experiences for children. All children are unique and have different ways and a different pace of learning. Assessment should be designed to accommodate such diversity. Assessment findings can also help Teachers identify children who need additional support and attention.

The school has adopted the measures recommended in  Secondary curriculum 2025-26 in line with the NCF-SE 2023,  to reassess and transform the approach to assessments. The School Assessment Policy aims to evaluate students holistically, focusing on their cognitive, social, and emotional development. The School Assessment framework  follows the recommendations of CBSE, NCERT, Nipun Bharat Guidelines, NEP 2020, National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage 2022 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, emphasizing formative and summative assessments, competency-based learning, and reducing rote memorization.

  • The academic year begins in April and consists of two terms; first term is from April to September   and the second term is from October to March.
  • There will be term-wise assessment for all the levels / stages of education in the form of formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
  • The Assessment Criteria adopted across different stages of schooling is age appropriate based on learning outcomes and competencies that a student is expected to achieve at any level and helps to evaluate both academic performance and practical application skills of the student.
  • Assessment Policy, as per Board’s recommendations covers rules related to remedial approaches, retests, grading structure, and promotion criteria.
