Pre-Primary Curriculum

Teaching Methodology

Our methodology of teaching aims at the holistic development of a child, ultimately preparing for the life’s many rich experiences. Children pass through sensitive periods of development early in ife. A child’s mind between the time of birth and six years of age has been referred to as an “absorbent mind”. It is during this stage that a child has a tremendous ability to learn and assimilate from the world around him, without conscious effort. During this time, children are particularly receptive to certain external stimuli. A Preschool teacher recognizes and takes advantage of these highly perceptive stages through the introduction of materials and activities which are specially designed to stimulate the intellect.

Encouraged to focus the attention on one particular quality, the children work at their own optimum level – in an environment where beauty and orderliness are emphasized and appreciated. A spontaneous love for “work” is revealed as the child is given the freedom within boundaries to make their own choices.

Our teachers are trained facilitators in the classroom, always ready to assist and direct. Their

purpose is to stimulate the child’s enthusiasm for learning and to guide them, without interfering with the child’s natural desire to teach the self and become independent. Each child works through their individual cycle of activities, and learns to truly understand according to their own unique needs and capabilities. Everything in the school has a specific use or purpose. A quality classroom has a busy, productive atmosphere where joy and respect abound. Within such an enriching environment, freedom, responsibility, and social and intellectual development spontaneously flourish!

Academic Program

PlayGroup

This program is meant for children between the ages of two years and three years. Children at this age make great developmental strides and our program focuses on creating a consistency and routine. We primarily focus on group activities and plenty of outdoor activities apart from the basics of language, art, math and nature related activities.

Nursery

This program is meant for children between the ages of three and four years. Once children graduate from Pre-Nursery and have mastered the basics of pre-reading and pre-math we move on to more advanced concepts. This escalates the learning possibilities of our students and prepares them to learn with freedom, curiosity and confidence.

Jr KG

This program is meant for children between the ages of four and five years. The focus of the program is to prepare children for Kindergarten 2 and help them master a wide variety of subjects, right from gross motor skills to social sciences and the study of nature. Besides this we also move on to advanced math, language and art among many others.

Sr KG

The final program at the pre-school level, this is meant for children between the ages of five and six years. The program provides ample academic challenges that will leave your child well prepared to transition into elementary school life. We’ve designed the program to have a fine balance between fun and academic development. Everything from language to nature study and everything in between is covered in great detail while still being enjoyable.

Varied activities and a vibrant classroom are important for our growing child. It is here that your child can develop positive attitudes to learning, foster friendships and learn to work with others.

During this stage, your child will become more aware of their local community.
